Untitled[edit]

The Devil's Courthouse is not part of Whiteside Mountain. It is in Transylvania County, located on the Blue Ridge Parkway, but is not near the Highlands and Cashiers area (Macon and Jackson Counties respectively). The Devil's Courthouse is located between Brevard, Canton, Asheville, and Waynesville. The majority of this article seems to deal with Whiteside Mountain. It would appear that this article was in decent shape back in 2006, before someone got a hold of it.Christofoldi 20:56, 5 June 2007 (UTC)christofoldi[reply]

Agreed, the current version is mixing two separate locations. The Geographic Names Information System only lists the mile marker 422 location (see ); whereas Whiteside Mountain is near Highlands. The confusion seems to arise because Jackson Country, North Carolina, the county of Whiteside Mountain near Highlans/Cashiers, states (click Jackson County at http://www.ncnhp.org/Pages/countysummaries1.htm). "Whiteside Mountain/Devil’s Courthouse and is a large, complex mountain with many high quality montane communities". So, it appears Devil's Courthouse may be a local name used in Jackson County. Regardless, the references to mile marker 422.4 of the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Cherokee legend of Judaculla refer to the Devil's Courthouse of Transylvania County. I made a new page for Whiteside Mountain and moved the relevant text of this page to that one.Badgettrg 06:02, 12 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
