Why this Derek Watson?[edit]

My name is also Derek Watson. I don't necessarily want to be on Wikipedia but the problem is that there is only one page that can be called Derek Watson. I object to the ex-Dean of Salisbury (referred to as DWDS) being the sole occupier of this space. Using a disambiguation page for every Derek Watson is clunky.

There are many people named Derek Watson.

DWDS is not noteworthy. He seems to have had a moderately successful career in the Church of England culminating in six years as a Dean. I myself have had a moderately successful career culminating in eight years as the CEO of my profession's representative body however I do not believe that I should have a Wikipedia page to the exclusion of all other Derek Watsons.

The presence of the Wikipedia page relating to DWDS may confuse people who are seeking information on other people named Derek Watson. It does not make it clear that this is only one of many Derek Watsons and not even the most important one.

His presence in Wikipedia seems to be the result of a project to catalogue all Anglican clergy of any minor note. Wikipedia is not a catalogue of personnel.

I therefore think this page should be removed and DWDS' achievements (and all the other Deans) added to the page relating to the diocese of Salisbury.
