Indigenous people[edit]

There appears to be a contradiction and/or lack of information regarding indigenous Uruguayans.


The article states that Amerindians make up a very small share of the population, before quoting the percentage of the Mestizo population. However, the "Indigenous peoples in Uruguay" article that the census data links to states that the native population was wiped out.


Therefore, is the "Indigenous" population either tribes from other areas/countries who are now settled in Uruguay - and if so, which tribes - or is the "Indigenous" population in reality 100% Mestizo? NightIsQuietNightIsQuiet (talk) 18:11, 21 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
