Looking at the revdel request, the given source, Cyclopedia of Michigan: Historical and Biographical was published in 1890 which would make the material public domain. Is there any other copying that is from copyrighted sources? If not, then providing attribution with {{PD-old-text}} should be sufficient. -- Whpq (talk) 01:35, 26 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Whpq looking now. I hate the blooming revdel script, cannot seem to get it right, and frequently paste in the wrong URL or the wrong diffs when I have so many windows open while checking sources ... to the point that I think I will start doing revdel requests manually. Will revisit the whole thing now ... SandyGeorgia (Talk) 03:05, 26 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
OK, the copy-paste without attribution to PD was not only from Bersey, but also from Lumberman, Page and Hotchkiss. The problem with DC's work is that he often took content from one source, and then attached a different citation to it, so one has to simultaneously check all sources, which means a lot of windows open. At any rate, you correctly point out that all sources here are PD, so I've just rephrased, while presumptively deleting text from sources that can't be evaluated. Done, I think, without the need for revdel. SandyGeorgia (Talk) 04:09, 26 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for looking at this. I had a quick skim at the overall issue driving this. All I can say is good luck, and please take breaks to keep your sanity. That's a big mountain of work. -- Whpq (talk) 04:12, 26 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Still working, I stopped too soon. Text also lifted from Lake County Star. At some point, it just makes sense to presumptively delete the lot. Thanks for the sanity wish; I came home late and just wanted to get on this to save the poor CCI admins from having to do an unnecessary revdel ... they are the ones I feel for. I think I'm really done (now that I've removed the shocking statement that Filer was a physician from the lead). If anyone can find a source that supports that ... SandyGeorgia (Talk) 04:48, 26 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
