Untitled[edit]

I believe that the promulgation of knowledge about tools, hand tools in particular, is crucial to helping us learn more about what it means to be human. With tools we share a most intimate relationship, one that needs to be understood and explored. This rationale urged me to post an entry for the "dead blow hammer." Just as tools improve our own work, I hope others will improve this entry.

Also, I plan to upload my own photo of a dead blow hammer ASAP, so don't worry about the absence of an image.

Physics expertise needed[edit]

The article lacks a physical explanation of how a dead blow hammer transfers more of its kinetic energy than a hammer that rebounds from the struck surface. The effect of the lead shot or sand filling (vs. a liquid vs. a solid filling) causes the different behavior of the hammer upon impact. Please give an intuitive explanation as well as an analytical mathematical explanation. Reify-tech (talk) 22:20, 9 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Dead blow hammerDead-blow hammer – The new article title would use proper punctuation for a compound adjective. 31.223.130.252 (talk) 05:17, 21 October 2022 (UTC)'[reply]
