Untitled[edit]

A portion of the David Justice information is wrong. The following information is a lie and should be corrected:

Justice was married to film actress Halle Berry between 1993 and 1996. The marriage ended as a result of an incident where Justice 'beat the shit' out of Berry in a domestic dispute. As a result, Berry suffered serious hearing loss in her right ear.

While it is true that David Justice and Halle Berry were married; it is a fact that her hearig loss happened many years BEFORE she was married to David. I have heard rumors regarding the person who allegedly beat her and caused the hearing loss; however, it is a rumor and I will not repeat it. I hope this information will be corrected.

I removed the POV tag as this seems to be a very minor dispute, and the people involved did not even sign their comments. If there are lingering POV concerns they should be expanded on here before readding the POV tag. Rob Banzai 18:35, 30 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I notice that in the Early Life section that there is no reference for any of that information. Did he graduate from college or not. Any reference to him skipping grades?Mylittlezach (talk) 04:57, 7 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Daughter[edit]

Justice also has a daughter Raquel, 3, according to MLB.com. I could not find a confirmed date of birth but she is the daughter of David and Rebecca Villalobos-Justice. The trivia section needs to be updated to reflect this.

Infobox colors should not be neutral here[edit]

Let's get one thing straight. I hate the Braves and I was never a fan on David Justice. But it is clear that Justice played the majority of his career in Atlanta, and if he was actually good enough to be in the Hall of Fame, it would certainly have a Braves hat on his cap. Justice is not a debatable case, and should not be neutral. Jjj222 (talk) 14:59, 11 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hall of Fame[edit]

I think the line, "The timing of the vote may have adversely affected his candidacy, as it was held shortly after the release of the now-infamous Mitchell Report" is accurate and should not be omitted. Certainly he is not a Hall of Fame-caliber player and would not have otherwise been voted into the Hall of Fame, but he was a legitimate star during the 1990's and his stats compare well to some Hall of Famers (like AB/RBI for example, one measure of productivity - 88th All-Time). The line is not saying that he would have been voted into the Hall of Fame if not for the Mitchell Report, it's saying that he received less votes because of it, which is true. I have confirmed this with two sportswriters from New England who have told me (off the record) that they were voting for Justice until he was included in the Mitchell Report (I understand this is independent research, however). Since he is not going to the Baseball Hall of Fame I think readers should understand that he was considered a better ballplayer than Shawon Dunston, Chuck Finley, Chuck Knoblauch, and Todd Stottlemyre, all of whom also received just one vote based only on their on-field performance and not the Mitchell Report.

Please, before reverting again, contribute to this discussion. If there is a true consensus that I am mistaken I will let it go.DJustice23 (talk) 13:24, 3 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It should not be here it violates WP:OR--Yankees10 13:55, 3 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I have to say, I thought it was common knowledge - at least among baseball insiders - that the Mitchell Report cost a lot of players a lot of votes and will continue to do so. Justice is no exception.142.177.124.14 (talk) 17:26, 5 April 2009 (UTC)Blaze[reply]
Agreed. Justice probably wasn't a HOF'er either way, but probably would have gotten more than one vote. He was much better than Chuck Knoblauch and Shawon Dunston.24.222.149.244 (talk) 13:20, 12 April 2009 (UTC)Alvin[reply]

Photo[edit]

Can we work on getting a photo up? I tried to find one free of licensing, but had no luck. Also, on another note, this page really needs to be highlighted in Braves Blue and Red. He will always be known as a Brave.-- 07:23, 17 June 2009 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by DizzyFLIPPINd (talkcontribs)

Race[edit]

Is dude just really light skinded or what? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.174.71.59 (talk) 02:35, 31 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Justice's mother was black but his father was white. He is mixed race but identifies as being black. (Interestingly, the same is true of his first wife Halle Berry.)DJustice23 (talk) 12:31, 31 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Justice is not biracial;both parents are African-american DCJUS66 (talk) 23:29, 8 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Braves HOF[edit]

I added "2007 Atlanta Braves Hall of Fame Inductee" to the Honors & Awards info box and my edit was reverted. I'd like to know why. This is the highest honor of his entire career and should be noted. Can Yankees10 or anyone else explain why it shouldn't be included in the info box? 24.222.212.63 (talk) 23:55, 24 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Justice's page[edit]

I have tried to add to Justice's page and it keeps getting rejected.Being a family member and knowing a helluva lot more about him than Wikipedia, can someone tell me why this upgraded info continues to be rejected? DCJUS66 (talk) 23:32, 8 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
