What's a "Series A financing"?[edit]

What does it mean when someone "[makes] a Series A financing for" a company?

The article says:

During early 2010 David made a Series A financing for OrangeHRM, "The World's Most Popular Open Source Human Resource Management Software." David is a director at OrangeHRM.

but I can't make any sense of that. Can someone make it clearer? Gronky (talk) 20:15, 12 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
