Merge with videodance[edit]

both articles dance film and videodance appear to discuss the same thing. Paul foord (talk) 06:39, 9 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

My opinion about simply merging...[edit]

Hello Paul Foord!

I think that it's not a simply merging, since dance film is subjected to the feature length films involving dance, and videodance is something like an audiovisual content. It's the same thing to merge Film into Video clip. Just take a look at Cinema to notice how expanded might be this universe... I also believe dance film and videodance are autonomous, it represents multiple appropriation about audiovisual technologies. Better would be to rename the central article or just bring the videodance to dance film. Felipe rizzo prux (talk) 02:17, 13 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed merge with Videodance[edit]

Redundancy (two articles that are fundamentally exact same things) Loginnigol (talk) 21:09, 20 September 2013 (UTC) Agreed. I would take the text from videodance and overwrite dance film. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.200.226.183 (talk) 18:57, 3 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Suggest Videodance over Dance Film[edit]

If the term Videodance is taken to mean any recording of a dance work, then Dance Film becomes a sub-section of Videodance, as well as a genre of Film. Film itself being a medium in the decline of its technical dominance over newer means of recording and replaying motion. Videodance can be considered the recorded dance itself and not a particular storage and/or retrieval system. The content will continue to be accessed in emerging formats on advancing devices.

There is a page containing extended links covering the genre; Dance in film. The current content contained on Dance film is limited and somewhat specific and can easily be incorporated into another, more appropriate section.

I propose I will merge the content contained under Dance Film to either (as appropriate, your feedback welcome) the Videodance page or possibly the Dance in Film page and redirect the Dance Film page to Dance in Film.
