Legislative Notes[edit]

I think listing just one of the provisions of the bill and saying that is what he voted for is misleading. The bill also put in a new tax on electronic bingo and electronic tip jars. Why isn't that listed as well? Listing the name of the bill only would be more NPOV. Tnxman307 (talk) 13:58, 21 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Article Neutrality[edit]

The legislative note claims to raise taxes for high income earners. However, the income tax increase affects the majority of wage earners in the state, so claiming that it only affects high income wage earners isn't accurate. And who is to say that someone earning $60,000 per year is a high wage earner? That is just someone's opinion. Two people earning $30,000 with 3 children can hardly be considered high wage earners in Maryland. If we are going to display voting records for politicians, there needs to be an absolutely neutral description.

Additionally, I find that users are picking and choosing which legisaltive voting records they want to display. If a politician votes pro-environment, that's fine, but to delete pro-illegal immigrant vote records for the same politician shows bais. Voting pro-illegal immigrant is generally not viewed as favorably in the eyes of the public, whereas most people in Maryland are sensitive to the environment.

In my opinion, we should probably stop showing voting records all together. Wikipedia should not be free advertising and platform awareness sites for politicians and their political parties.

Name of Law Degree[edit]
