Dolphin in swimming pool by SCHS students?[edit]

I went to SCHS and I'v heard the story. I also heard that they hung a dead dolphin from the flag pole. I'v not, however, ever seen any official sources (newspapers, even teachers) comment on either story. This would have been more than worthy of a newspaper article, so we need a citation if it is a fact, which seems doubtful to me. (Where exactly did they get the dead dolphin, why wasn't there a large investigation, outrage from animal rights people, etc?) Serialized

Actually the people who did that still live in this area. In fact one of them is my friends dad, so I suggest that you investigate a little deeper. Oh and back at the time it was done animal rights wasn't as big as it was now and pranks weren't really a big deal. People got that it was a joke.

As a Student of Dana Hills from 1974 to 1977, I can verify that the dead Dolphin on the flagpole story is true. I saw it. Although I don't recall the exact date, it was in the range of September 1975 to May 1977 (my junior and Senior years). As the poster of the previous paragraph implies, this cannot be viewed in the context of today's South OC. Back then the population of Dana Point was less than 20% what it is today. South OC was considered semi-remote and therefore little news reached the "Big City" papers. This story did appear in the local newpapers (The Daily Pilot and Sun Post). As I recall the perpetrators were promptly apprehended, confessed to finding the Dolphin already dead on the beach (this quelled the initial outrage), and were appropriately reprimanded.RenOC

TV Show Offer[edit]

The rivalry with San Clemente, while is somewhat prevalent, is however, uncorroborated. Also, where is the evidence that Laguna Beach producers were going to select Dana Hills as a first choice? Perhaps if whomever it was that wrote these pieces could come up with some reputable evidence, then they could stay. Otherwise, poorly-written, unsupported ramblings of that nature do not belong on this website.

The Laguna Beach producers actually did come to Dana Hills first. However, the Principal at the time, Carolyn Williams, denied their requests. This topic should be looked into because it is an interesting part of DHHS history.

That is true, they heard about the SOCSA program and thought they would be good actors, but i couldn't imagine them being Dana Point stars. I don't find it flattering they came to Dana either.Geophrie (talk) 03:55, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Neutrality and Accuracy[edit]

This page seems to just be an unbiased approach at how great dana hills is. Also the statement "The school is willing to pay the full price of the exam for any student that cannot afford it." is not accurate.
