AJ Styles Theme "I Am"[edit]

I always thought that AJ Styles' theme "I Am" sounded like it was based off of "Youth of a Nation" by P.O.D. Do you all agree and should this be added to the chart? I understand this wouldn't be sourced from anywhere, but maybe it would be original resource. I'm guessing at least some of the songs in the "sound-alike" table were probably determined due to their resemblence to another song, as opposed to being sourced to some "Official List" somewhere. --CrumpyTheReindeer (talk) 23:51, 26 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Only sourced info should be added. Not possibly true info, we must know it is true; as such it needs to be backed up by a reference.--WillC 01:41, 27 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

NPOV[edit]

This page is full of opinions about Oliver's work that have no referenced basis. Also, the page tends to paint Oliver in a very negative light:

  • "Oliver has been subjected to some criticism in that some say a lot of the theme tunes he has composed are closely modelled on popular songs."
  • "Some of Oliver's best known themes include..."
  • "It is widely considered to be one of Oliver's best theme songs..."
  • "... no full length version can be found on any TNA fansites."
  • "Some think that it is simply because..."
  • "Oliver has also been known to make what are considered to be his better themes for competitors in the X Cup Tournaments."
  • Consistant use of the word "rip-off" throughout the article, particularly in the wrestler themes list... also no reference to his original songs in the wrestler themes list...

I think this article needs to be completely edited to reflect a nPOV... Clint 06:33, 6 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No one seemed to care, so I went ahead and cleaned it up myself... Clint 04:32, 23 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Cover Versions?[edit]

How does somebody this talentless gain employment? Easily explained really; when it's with TNA a company built on poorly implemented mimicry.--86.143.94.17 14:35, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I wouldn't say that he's completely talentless. Maybe TNA tells him to make rip-offs of songs because they think that that song will fit the character. The thing I don't like is how they use a song more than once for wrestlers that don't even have anything to do with each other.

Oliver really has made a couple of good ones. I'm listening to "I'm Everything" right now. A friend of mine got it for me somehow and it was not easy to get. I wouldn't consider it a blatant rip-off of Carlos Santana's "Smooth." It sometimes sounds like it, but Oliver's "FU System" is one of the most obvious rip-offs ever and I'm surprised TNA can even use it. It sounds so much like "Toxicity" by System of a Down that it's not even funny. I have both songs and sometimes I wonder if maybe they just put "Toxicity" in a computer and remixed it. Maybe Oliver didn't even have to pick up an instrument for it.

But he has made some good originals such as "My World", "I Am", and a few others.

"I Am" is a good song. Why they don't let him do different stuff like this, or why he dosen't make different stuff like that, is beyond me. TNA could also get a good indy band for music. God, there must be hundereds on MySpace, and there are probably a lot of decent ones.

Song Titles[edit]

I'm not gonna delete anything that's been put on the page, but how exactly are people finding out the titles to his songs? I understand that a lot of them were found out from TNA's old iMPACT! Community Forum, and a lot of them have been on TNAWrestling.com in the past, but how are people finding out the titles to the newer ones that have not been posted on TNAWrestling.com and have not been released on any of TNA's music albums? —Preceding unsigned comment added by DarkSword (talkcontribs) 03:07, 27 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

They're simply making them up. There's absolutely no source for "Angel On My Shoulder" for example —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.177.9.143 (talk) 00:36, 2 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

EDIT: Angel on My Shoulder is repeated several times through the chorus...which, is the cloest way to assume

OK, I'll give you that. But that doesn't explain the others. Johnny Devine and Frank Trigg's themes, were officially released on TNAb2b.com as "Burnin' It Up" and "Triggonomics", respectively. Why are they called "I'm Hott" and "Frozen" here when we have their actual titles released? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.177.9.29 (talk) 04:49, 12 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Dale Oliver[edit]

I move to change the title of this section to "Music Used In TNA"....while retaining the information about Dale Oliver. Can someone second my motion? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.255.108.234 (talk) 23:23, 1 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
