I suspect you could drive a din sync beatbox or appegiator with digitally created dc pulses from the hot pin of a balanced audio output. This would be useful to many with a DAW. Anyone know the source/load impedance limits for interfacing with a din sync port? If so, please incorporate it into the article.

Sync24 vs Sync48 conversion confusion[edit]

"Roland DIN sync uses 24 pulses per crotchet (quarter note), hence the term 24ppqn. Korg equipment such as the DDM-110 drum machine uses an otherwise-identical system but at 48ppqn. If you plug a Roland TB-303 into a Korg DDM-110, the TB-303 will run at twice the normal speed. It is possible to overcome this with a simple adaptor."

"simple" is a relative thing, & has- I agree- been used carelessly here. it is a trivial matter to divide the frequency of the clock by two using a logic device like a 4013, but it isn't necessarily an easy thing for a novice to build such a divider.

Devices with DIN sync[edit]

I have found such lists useful from time to time so consider the knowledge beneficial.

The long term concern would be the size if all devices were listed. That said, it could be simplified somewhat by reducing entries by manufacturer consistency eg all Elektron devices listed have similar properties. 60.240.33.156 (talk) 04:14, 20 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

If size becomes a problem, an easy solution is to WP:SPLIT the list to a standalone article. List of PTP implementations is an example where this happened. ~Kvng (talk) 17:12, 22 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

regarding the device list[edit]

the list contains mostly devices out of production, because the DIN-Sync is an obsolete protocol no longer used by actual products. So I think there is no need to avoid commericial advantages Fanwander (talk) 10:56, 19 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
