Needs expansion, references, and corrections.[edit]
The author seems to be working from a description of one particular bell, and not from knowledge of them more generally. Not all (or even most) dotaku featured dragonflies, mantises, and spiders. As far as I am aware, the jury is still out on just what they were used for.
In any case, more needs to be explained. These are very frequently compared to Korean horsebells. But what's a horse-bell and why is it called that? This is just one of many elements that could be expanded upon. LordAmeth (talk) 04:40, 4 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
