More sources needed[edit]

Some of the more specific and tentative facts should have some citation, especially if they've only been shown once. The riboswitch section is one (I think there was a paper in Science), as well as the concept of localization of DGC and PDE enzymes (4th paragraph).Tevye guy (talk) 08:48, 30 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I added a citation for the localization of enzymes statement. The riboswitch citations occur in the cyclic di-GMP-I riboswitch and cyclic di-GMP-II riboswitch articles, so I didn't redundantly put them in. PilZ Domains[edit]

Also, regarding this passage (5th paragraph):

"The PilZ domain has been shown to bind cyclic di-GMP and is believed to be involved in cyclic di-GMP-dependent regulation, but the mechanism by which it does this is unknown."

How uncertain is this anymore? I thought it was pretty well established that PilZ domain proteins bind to cyclic di-GMP and cause conformational changes that turn effector proteins on/off.Tevye guy (talk) 08:48, 30 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Plenty of New Info to Add[edit]

The last few years have seen quite a bit of solidifying of information about more aspects of cyclic di-GMP signaling. It would be great to see this reflected on Wikipedia. Recently papers have come out demonstrating asymmetrical segregation of cyclic di-GMP into daughter cells in caulobacter (allowing the 'stalk' to form), and PilZ domains have become more established in the literature.
