Sons of Cromarty[edit]

Donald Innes born 6 Sept 1884 at Rose Farm Cromarty. Educated Cromarty Public School. Dux of Cromarty Public School. Awarded Hugh Miller Medal(Believed only existing Medal and with family). MA - Edinburgh University 1905. Head Teacher Tranent Primary School and Bishopmill Primary School Elgin Moray. At time of death in Elgin in 1970 Donald was reputed to be the Country's recognised authority on Robert Burns and of English Language

George Innes born 18 June 1887 Rose Farm Cromarty. Educated at Cromarty Public School. Police Sergeant Metropolitan Police. Joined the Metropolitan Police on the 3rd October 1910.Present at the Coronation of King George V and Queen Mary at Westminster Abbey in 1911 and was awarded the Coronation Medal.Enlisted 2nd Battalion Seaforth Highlanders 1914.
