Untitled[edit]

The etymology section appears to me to be one of User:GeoffMGleadall's more hare-brained ideas. A Proto-Celtic *kridjo-lāto- wouldn't have given Welsh Creiddylad in any case: How does he explain the ei diphthong? Why wouldn't long stressed ā have been diphthongized to aw? How does he turn a non-syllabic off-glide j into a vowel? I'm not totally positive about this, but I think *kridjo-lāto- would have given something closer to cryddlawd. Anyway, I'd really rather cut the etymology section for this article, because I don't see that much of value can be redeemed from it. Q·L·1968 17:30, 8 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
