Online Magazine[edit]

Although Wikipedia does not yet have a written article for it, shouldn't there be a reference, as well, to the online magazine called The Cradle, which is a geopolitical news magazine about western Asia? It's URL is www.thecradle.co. Stevenmitchell (talk) 18:34, 29 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Here we are, 25 months later, and still no Wiki page. Even The Cradle staff apparently haven't bothered creating their own page. Perhaps it doesn't matter to them. JJM0070 (talk) 02:26, 6 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The newspaper is a propaganda site that is heavily anti-Israel and sources its "evidence" from Telegram groups belonging to terrorists. I doubt that is even remotely ethical when it comes to journalism ethics Steveonsi (talk) 08:35, 22 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Israel is commiting genocide I'm pretty sure they're the real terrorists to focus on. 92.200.32.206 (talk) 18:28, 14 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
That has nothing to do with the credibility of this "news source" H4mmi313 (talk) 15:50, 16 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The way they report on Israel was brought up initially as an argument to discredit the site though… you want to also critical comment on that? ^^
Btw: I looked at the page and their research seems solid (not worse than other “mainstream” outlets at least..) You can check all of their sources and make up your own mind. They are also not overly “flaming” in their rhetoric.
Plus: If they cite Telegram and it is made transparent and fits the news they want to report (like “known terrorist telegram channels claim ….”) then - as a reader - I’m interested in this (since I’m not in known terrorist channels and wouldn’t learn about this otherwise..) 2A01:599:103:6EF5:5106:3F4B:E5D3:C86E (talk) 13:15, 23 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Microphone cradle[edit]

I have always called the adaptor that holds a microphone on a microphone stand a cradle and the term still appears to have some currency, see

https://duckduckgo.com/?q=microphone+cradle&ia=images

for some examples. Andrewa (talk) 06:36, 12 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Also, the handsets on old POTS telephones were set on cradles as the Wikipage acknowledges but does not cite, which also disconnected the call. I imagine that microphone cradles are an extension of this. I'll look for refs., although it is hard to find refs forr obvious items. Perhaps it's a name for any receptible that takes an instrument.
