local legend[edit]

According to local legend, Mike, Bruce and Garry Barnett are said to have once lived in the town of Cotton, No one knows exactly how they came to be in Cotton nor how they came to be orphaned at such young and tender ages. What is known, and still remarked upon today, is that they were adopted by a mama bear who had lost her own offspring to a particularly harsh and unrelenting winter. She nursed the orphaned Barnetts, kept them warm at night and loved them as her own. Many a wolf and weasel rued the day and bore the scars from when it came in for a closer look at her young charges! She was a good mama up until the day a hunter took her for a trophy, leaving her three young cubs to fend for themselves. It was right about that time the gentle folk of Cotton first encountered the three wild boys, when like any other half-starved bruins will do, the children were forced from the bosom of the forest to forage for foodstuffs along the outskirts of the town. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.237.83.154 (talk) 20:29, 4 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
