Etymology[edit]

What is the etymology of this place name? Badagnani (talk) 23:10, 4 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The GNIS listing for U.S. Geological Survey Geographic Names Information System: Coskata Pond has a history section, reading 'Indian word which probably means "at the broad woods" (Steel).' I don't know where else to look. Nyttend (talk) 00:17, 5 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks; This book says it may be from Wampanoag. Badagnani (talk) 00:19, 5 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
