Anniversay Week?[edit]

I think the page should be on the 50TH Anniversay Week! Since the main action happened around the whole week not just this episodes. I take this for Eastenders wikipedia page "Queen Vic Fire Week" —Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.57.136.82 (talk) 07:17, 3 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

She shouldn't abandon it. I found this article by chance and expanded it because I'd written one for the 40th anniversary last year, but an article covering the whole week would be useful since there were several events to mark the anniversary. First computer generated imagery on live television[edit]

If this is considered to be dubious, I suppose the way around it might be to say something like "According to Daniel Kilkelly of Digital Spy the episode was the first live television to feature computer generated imagery". Phil Collinson also made the first claim in that video on itv.com. Thinking about it, though, news and weather have had live CGI for years. Not the first time EastEnders has paid tribute to The Street[edit]

That actually happened on Christmas Day 1987 at Pete Beale's flat. Several of the characters are playing charades when Den Watts calls to offer everyone Season's Greetings. He is persuaded to join in and chooses a television programme, which turns out to be Coronatio Street. If we could find a reference to back this up then it might be interesting to add it. To be honest, I don't see what relevance it has to the article. It was only a small reference rather than a tribute. It could be relevant if we can determine how often something like that happens. I have a feeling it's quite rare, particularly as they're produced for rival channels. Certainly it's not a common occurrance. It's a pity the ref prvided doesn't link to the Guardian website as that might provide more information. I might go searching for it tomorrow. Updated thoughts on this. Not sure it has relevance to the article itself, as stated above, but it may be worth mentioning somewhere within the Coronation Street pages. It would have been quite unusual in 1987 for a BBC programme to pay tribute to one from a rival network, so if there is a reference out there, great stuff. If it was a tribute to Hilda Ogden it could even be mentioned at 1987 in British television. Paul MacDermott (talk) 12:05, 24 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
