Great post as have been trying to trace this data myself for a long time. Does the person concerned have details of the Connact Senior Cup ?

Spent a couple of hours in a local history library, using the 'Irish News Archives' website, tough to get a lot of info. Problem was that regional newspapers did'nt seem to embrace it until the 90's even then they lost interest if the clubs from their particular county were out of the running for trophies. The Galway newspapers like the Connacht Sentinel and City Tribune are the best bets for online info. P.S Castlerea Celtic would have certainly been in the League between 1981 and 1986 maybe a season longer.

Thank you indeed who-ever you are ! Have been going through the Galway Advertiser archieve on line since your post. Certainly find it confusing with the Connacht Senior Cup as they refer to the CSL knock-out cup as the Connacht Senior Challange Cup. May I suggest you contact me via the foot.ie (irish soccer forum) with a pm, save us posting our e-mails on here. If you check out the Junior football thread, I opened a thread highlighting that past CSL champions are on wikipedia. I would like to share info with you as I belive between the two of us we may have a full set of past Connacht Senior Cup winners and finalists with most scores. Would also be interested to learn if you have interest in honours for other leagues, as I posted some additional past champions of the Galway League from the said research but can't get to grips with the resource thing for wikipedia.
