Inaccurate history[edit]

This show was started before 1983 and Stewart Cheifet wasn't the first host. I don't have all the details, though, so I'm not changing it. Mirror Vax 02:58, 21 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

The first episode of "Computer Chronicles" was in September 1983. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B7I10ZDjaX8 says that Gary Kildall was the host from the beginning and worked for "over six years" - 1983-1990. This link (http://thetvdb.com/?tab=seasonall&id=186081&lid=7) says that the first episode of Computer Chronicles was "Mainframes to Minis to Micros" - and gives an air date of September 1, 1983. While that date may or may not be exact, it is close. This link - from 1995 - (http://www.thefreelibrary.com/COMPUTER+CHRONICLES+TO+AIR+300TH+SHOW-a016553941) states "Mainframes to Minis to Micros" as the first episode. It says 1982 as the first airdate, but that episode (seen here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wpXnqBfgvPM) mentions the Hewlett Packard HP-150 as "new", and it launched in November 1983. In addition, this episode has a 1983 copyright date.

Stewart Cheifet and Gary Kildall were there for the first episode. Computer Chronicles simply did not exist prior to 1983, at least as a full-scale TV show 1779Days (talk) 05:50, 12 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Inaccurate History[edit]

Might this help a little ? http://www.archive.org/details/computerchronicles . Archive.org is hosting some Computer Chronicle episodes for free viewing and downloading, that one page tells a little more information about the show.

Uh, that page is word for word identical to this article. So one was copied from the other. That doesn't help. Mirror Vax 16:25, 21 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Almost all episodes available on archive.org?[edit]

"Almost all episodes of Computer Chronicles have been made available for free download at the Internet Archive" On Archive.org, there are 562 episodes of the computer chronicles available for download.. but how is that almost all the episodes of the entire series? It was a weekly show, lasted for 21 years. 52 weeks a year... 52*21=1092 episodes, so only about half are on archive.org? Where are the rest? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 184.100.229.30 (talk) 21:11, 12 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Most "weekly" programs don't produce an original show all 52 weeks out of the year. White 720 (talk) 03:03, 22 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Computer Chronicles was produced around 30 weeks per year for about 19 years. 19*30=570. 1779Days (talk) 05:50, 12 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
