Is there an actual copy of the 1985 Act available on the web anywhere? Epstein's Mother 20:55, 29 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Not to my knowledge. The OPSI (formerly the Stationary Office) only began publishing statutes on the web in 1988 (earlier Acts appear on an ad hoc basis). The Companies Act 1989 (which amended the 1985 Act substantially) is available. Given the 1985 Act is slated for repeal with the Companies Act 2006 coming into force over the next couple of years, prospects of it now being published are probably very slim. There may be a copy of it on some academic website such as BAILII, but I am not aware of it. Legis 08:57, 30 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
After learning that the 2006 revision has recently come into force through Statutory Instrument no. 3429 (I think? IANAL), I had a look around to see if there was a copy of the 1985 Act online, but came up with nothing. --Revlob 11:50, 11 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disclosure[edit]

The reference made to new disclosure requirements for Company websites is misleading this reuirement comes from a statutory instrument (http://www.opsi.gov.uk/si/si2006/20063429.htm). I will change it and remove the related link. John Cross 19:03, 17 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
