Yes, something is very wrong with the beginning of the article. Although the article discusses the very real changes which occurred to the SDP, the idea that the CPN was founded in 1909 is just a variety of Leninist phrase-mongering by which they set out to claim greater legitimacy for their own political movement. It might be relevant to assert that the CPN made this claim - I am sure there is evidence for this - without endorsing such a partisan viewpoint. Leutha (talk) 14:17, 14 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Did you know Lenin and Stalin were Social Democrats? Pre-1914/1917, the Marxist trends that eventually became the modern communist movement were part of the social democratic movement. Many of the main communist parties began with a social democratic identity (Chile, Sweden, etc.). The Dutch CPN is by no means unique in this regard. --Soman (talk) 20:51, 14 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
