Didn't these snacks used to be called Conquistadors?

Popular culture addition[edit]

First I apologize if I'm breaking any guideline writing here, I'm not familiar with the wikipedia contribution system.

A reference was made through the Breaking Bad character Christian "Combo" Ortega.

Although the name has never been explicitly attributed to the food, it is mentioned in an interview of the actor :

Q: Do you know how your character got the nickname Combo? Or what it means?

A: I’m not exactly sure where that comes from. They always kept Combos around the set — the little pretzel and cheese things. It could have been those.

A bag of combos is also seen in association with the character in the fifth episode of the third season, 45:46

Discontinued?[edit]

I have not seen these in stores for months. I loved them.. I think they're discontinued for some reason. I hope nto. Toajaller3146 04:46, 26 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Nope, I'm just guessing your store stopped carrying them. -Platypus Man | Talk 04:28, 17 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • If you go to the combos home page in the external links, there is a 'product locator' that claims to find nearby stores that sell them. (in my area it seems like mostly drug stores, e.g. CVS, Rite-AID.) --68.126.5.55 (talk) 17:25, 20 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sources and re-writes[edit]

Certain items such as the Colbert quote need to be sourced if known. Also, the details on the production section are written in a very simliar manner as the production method is written on the Combos website. If possible, please re-format it. -Martinman 22:12, 8 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Verified Fact[edit]

At some point someone changed the "citation needed" next to Zesty Salsa Tortilla to say "verified". Who exactly verified this? There is no citation given (in fact, there never has been), and a Google search didn't turn up anything about this. I'm putting the "citation needed" statement back for now. --Ronark 20:15, 27 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Bad link[edit]

This article sounds like a joke[edit]

Some of the sightings of off-flavors, where the descriptions sound unappetizing and have times they were spotted down to the minute sounds more like satire than fact. The trivia section sounds ridiculous as well. "Combo commander?" Come on, that sounds like something one person thought was clever.

Trivia doesn't fit under the Wikipedia guidelines, and the rest of this is unsourced and sounds too humorous to be real. Please reference. I'll give it some time but will remove it if it remains as it currently is. Jamesfett (talk) 23:18, 13 May 2008 (UTC) (written on 5 May, signed on 13 May)[reply]

I've given this an amount of time, with no discussion, I'm going to make the change. Feel free to revert if it can be sourced that the removed material is indeed factual.

They exist. We just ate some about a month back. Believe me, the description on here (not by us) was much kinder than our experience.

Peanut Butter Variety[edit]

I remember eating peanut butter Combos when I was a kid (mid-80's). I suggest we add that flavor to the list. I couldn't find out much about them on the web, but I found one reference in a comment to the following article: http://snackerrific.com/snack-review-new-combos-in-zesty-salsa-and-pssst-pssst/1156 70.88.141.97 (talk) 05:15, 6 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I second adding a list of discontinued flavors. There’s one at http://slice.seriouseats.com/archives/2010/07/ode-to-combos-pizzeria-pretzel-pepperoni-pizza-cracker.htmlWulf (talk) 08:28, 10 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

COMBO'S CRACKERS[edit]

I think that combos should make cookie Combo's such as: Oreo on the out side and cream in the middle or Chips Ahoey on the outside and chocolate in the middle. I think if this were to be made it would be a whole new combo with a great tast! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.90.195.63 (talk) 11:37, 9 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Where do Eagle Snacks some in to this product?[edit]

Is there a reference for Anheuser-Busch creating this product line? As far as I can gather from trademark filings, Mars owned this brand back to the 1970s, without assignments. The only references to them being from Eagle Snacks appear to be copypasta of this wiki article. --Zekamashi (talk) 02:11, 19 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
