A fact from Column of Phocas appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the Did you know column on 31 January 2006. The text of the entry was as follows:
Did you know... that the Column of Phocas, erected in 608 to flatter the Eastern Roman Emperor Phocas, was the very last addition made to the Roman Forum?

You seem to be quite right. Gibbon's brief account of Phocas' reign of abuses (click here) offers no episode outside Constantinople. The error is mine. Then the gift of the Pantheon (609) was not a gift made in person? --Wetman 11:40, 4 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
