Colt Model 1908 Vest Pocket[edit]

As seems to have been discovered already Colt licensed nothing from FN. The patent on this firearm was Browning's and he sold the rights to produce this pistol in the U.S. to Colt's. Syr74 (talk) 00:38, 5 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

....[edit]

I thought the Baby Browning came first in 1905 and then the Colt Vest Pocket in 1907-08. Am I wrong?

Yes. --Asams10 22:30, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

FN Model 1905/1906 Vest Pocket[edit]

Based on my references in the Baby Browning article, the Colt Model 1908 was made in less numbers than the FN Model 1905/1906/Vest Pocket. The Colt is merely a license-produced FN and differed only in the markings and a magazine safety added in 1916. I'm going to go ahead and move the article, however I'd like some consensus on what to call the new article. FN referred to the pistol (and it was marked) as the VP .25. "VP" stands for "Vest Pocket", of course. My suggestion is to move the article to FN Vest Pocket and create rediracts for the many names it went by. I'd also like to incorporate the FN production data in with the Colt production data as I've done on the total produced. Again, the Colt is no different being only a license produced version of the FN and produced in lesser numbers to boot. Comments? --Nukes4Tots (talk) 00:06, 7 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Astra 200[edit]

Wasn't the Spanish-made Astra 200 a clone of the Vest Pocket model? Might be worth a mention of the various clones or at least this one.. Surv1v4l1st (Talk|Contribs) 18:49, 19 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
