Parallel Ruler Models[edit]

The .38 ACP M1903 Pocket Hammer Model is part of the M1900/M1902/M1905/M1907 family of short recoil pistols. These are dubbed the "Parallel Ruler" Models due to their barrels having swinging links at both the front and rear, as opposed to just the rear in the M1909/M1910/M1911.

Technically, the FN M1903 (Swedish M/07) is not the exact same as the Colt M1903. For one, the FN pistol is quite a bit longer due to the 5" barrel, and in part for the 9x20mmSR 'Browning' cartridge. The later is sometimes referenced as the 9mm Browning Long to differentiate it from the 9mm Short (9x17mm/.380 ACP) and the 9x19mm used in the Browning Hi-Power.--D.E. No, the Colt M1903 Pocket Hammerless was only available in .32 ACP, and the M1908 Pocket Hammerless in .380 ACP. The FN M1903 was only made in 9x20mmSR. (FWIW: The .38 ACP would be 9x23mmSR with a Metric designation.)--D.E. Watters 15:32, 26 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Front sight for Colt 1908 .380 pistol[edit]

I have a 1908 .380 pocket Pistol that I inherited from my father. His father, my grandfather purchased it new, as I was told in about 1910. The pistol is in very good condition, other than a missing front sight. I was wondering if anyone would know where I could locate a sight and screw for it.
