Dedication to Philopator[edit]

If he was a student of Epicurus (who died around 270 BC), a dedication of one of his books to Ptolemy IV Philopator appears quite improbable, because that king reigned from 221 to 204 BC. My encyclopedia says that he studied with Epicurus from 309 or 306 BC on. Let's say he was 20 then, that means that he wpould have been 105 when Philopator ascended the throne!
