The beggining paragraphs of this article on the discovery and early use of Collinsonia is absolutely incorrect. Collinsonia was discovered by John Bartram, the colonial Philadelphia botanists and he sent seeds or plants to Colliinson in the early 1730s.

Bartram frequently used Collinsonia as a medicinal plant and described its use in an 1751 appendix to Thomas Short's Medicina Britannica, printed in Philadelphia by Franklin & Hall. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.160.218.42 (talk) 21:38, 6 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
