This Organization Doesn't Exist[edit]

This article is just plain wrong. The College of Bishops does not exist. I will be looking up the information from an official source to effectvely delete this article. <<Coburn_Pharr>> 22:16, 27 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

The original text of the article read:

The College of Bishops is an organization consisting of all the bishops in the Roman Catholic Church and all other Western Churches.

This short description is, I'm afraid incorrect. As Coburn Pharr comments, it is not an organisation. Rather, it is a theological concept in the Catholic religion. And non-Catholic bishops of the West, such as those of the Anglican Communion, are not considered members of the College of Bishops. I have changed the paragraph and added some information and source material.I apologise to the contributor, who has obviously gone to some pain to supply a gap in the Wikipedia. --Gazzster 08:54, 30 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
