Vocals[edit]

Is there any indication of why his unusual pronounciation in his songs? As a new Decemberists listener its the thing that struck me the most about the music. 203.97.49.94 06:38, 13 July 2007 (UTC) p.s. also i put this at the top of the discussion page because... shouldn't it be most recent first? I don't know why Wikipedia(n's) don't do it this way.[reply]

Watercarvers Guild[edit]

I'm a HUGE FAN of the Watercarvers Guild (as well as a friend of the family) but the line about the WG opening for Tim O'Brien doesn't belong in this article. It should be removed. Nbiehl 01:30, 1 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Picture[edit]

Hey all, here's[1] a nice pic of Colin. Its not in Creative Common's I dont imagine, but if anyone could find out info it would be a nice pic for the article. I've saved a copy for the future if the link ever stops working. I won't change it, CC is always prefered, but its just an option.--Thomas Exciting 22:55, 29 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

PS- I also dislike the merger idea. If it still exists.

Merge Request[edit]

I'm against a merge. Tarkio is its own band that meets notability standards and has plenty of information regarding its formation available. It's an article that's been in my to-do list for a couple weeks, and should be expanded and not merged. --badlydrawnjeff (WP:MEME?) 16:27, 9 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Merge Request[edit]

Please don't merge the two. I agree; Tarkio needs to be expanded.--Erudite eyes 20:54, 9 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Merge Request[edit]

I am also against the merge. Tarkio and Colin Meloy aren't the same thing. Colin Meloy was in Tarkio, but Colin Meloy also performs under his own name. Tarkio is not Colin Meloy solo. Colin Meloy is Colin Meloy solo. --ohbusiness Feb 12, 11:26am.

Merge Request[edit]

What they said. Colin's two solo cover albums should be enough to prove that this merge wouldn't make sense. --Nick 13 Feb, 14:28 PST

This is a silly idea; Colin Meloy is a member of more bands than Tarkio, viz. The Decemberists, and has also done a bit of solo work. --Smári McCarthy 18:16, 27 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Merge Request[edit]

I don't like this idea either

Guitar[edit]

The article doesn't mention that he plays the guitar? And that the guitar (I think) is a classical guitar, unusual for pop/rock music? Badagnani 08:01, 11 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Lil' Bush[edit]

Should info be added to the article about Colin's appearance as "Smart Jeb" on Lil' Bush? --6xB 00:42, 27 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Instruments[edit]

The article still doesn't mention the instruments he plays?!!! Badagnani 04:05, 14 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Review suggestion[edit]

As an editor at Crawdaddy!, and to comply with COI guidelines, I am not posting the link to this review. However, I would like to recommend it on its merits, and hope that an editor will find the time to examine the review and—if he or she sees fit—post it as an external link, or, if/when a Colin Meloy Sings Live! page is created, to the professional reviews section. I appreciate your time. Crawdaddy (favorable) 2008

Ben Gibbard??[edit]

"There is some speculation among music fans that Meloy and Death Cab for Cutie frontman Ben Gibbard are in fact the same person, as they bear a striking resemblance to one another, and sound remarkably similar when they sing. This theory has never been confirmed."

Is that some sort of joke? Something tells me this should be removed.
