Founding Date[edit]

Hi! I've just added a few sections to the school's page, including a History section. When I was researching I noticed that this article claims that the school opened as Southern Higher Grade school in 1902 and became Cockburn School in 1904. However, this is the only article which seems to think this; for example, this page mentions the school opening in 1902 but not as Southern Higher Grade school, and a search on the British Newspaper Archive shows references to 'Cockburn School' from 1902 onwards, and references to 'Southern Higher Grade school' before 1902.

From this I've made the assumption that the Yorkshire Evening Post article is wrong and that the school went from being Southern Higher Grade school to Cockburn School in 1902, but if anyone knows any better do edit the page! PeteFromLeeds (talk) 18:53, 21 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
