Ford coming out[edit]

Part of the recent edit removed a quote:

Clementine Ford cleared things up in an interview with The Advocate, "I'm gay", "I just wanted there not to be this big emphasis on it."

Do you think there would be a good way to include that sentence or some reference to her saying "not to be this big emphasis", if that is her most notable and public position on the issue? I also wonder whether the Advocate magazine interview would be a source of other notable bio info, but i haven't read that issue.

Of course, if Ford doesn't want a big emphasis, we don't need to put one in her Biography unless there is some reason from reliable sources indicating a need to emphasize for the sake of informing readers of this article about something important. I'm ignorant of any reason for emphasis at this point, beyond mentioning her interview and possibly the wish which she vocalized on the topic. ~Teledildonix314~Talk~4-1-1~ 12:41, 3 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I removed that quote (and the earlier Diva segment) because I thought the best way to not put a big emphasis on it was to well, not put a big emphasis on it, and also because this is a short stub and per WP:UNDUE we really don't need a long segment with all the details about her coming out. Something about her position on prop 8 might be worth adding though, I'm not sure. I added the advocate interview as a source, you can access it here: [1]. It's mostly about The Young & the Restless, so not a whole lot in the way of biographical information. I added a bit about her part on there to the lead text. Why Ford?[edit]

Sorry for the stupid question, but why hasn't Clementine Ford not the same last name as her mother, Cybill Shepherd? Was she married? Or is it the last name of her father? --62.203.156.249 (talk) 20:18, 29 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

On Cybill's page it says that she was married to David Ford from 1978 till 1982:

She went home to Memphis where she met and began dating local auto parts dealer and nightclub entertainer David M Ford. She became pregnant and they married that year. Their daughter Clementine Ford was born in 1979 but the marriage ended in divorce in 1982.
