Do Not Revert[edit]

To Whoever Is Reverting This Page,

Please stop.

Much of the information you are reverting to is incorrect.

I have referenced (and footnoted) where my information comes from (ie. Ronald Syme's Augustan Aristocracy, which anyone who has studied the Augustan era knows to be by far the most reliable and pre-eminent book on the subject of the family genealogy of that period).

The revision of Claudia Marcella Major is much neater in my revision, and it gets rid of some errors (there is no evidence to say when exactly Marcella Major was born, also the existence/names of the children of Marcella Major by Iullus Antonius are (apart from Lucius Antonius) far from certain).

Pretty much all of the information regarding Claudia Marcella Minor was wrong - she was not married to Messallinus, but Appianus. She married Paullus Aemilius Lepidus AFTER Appianus died in 13BCE. Marcella Minor's son Barbatus did not become consul, and he only had ONE child by Domitia Lepida, and that was Valeria Messalina. Marcus Valerius Messalla Corvinus was NOT her child.

So please do not revert this page again, the old information is wrong and Syme's information is far more reliable and far more accepted these days.

Thank-you.
