I edited this, in the section on external support there was a reference to Iran supporting shia cells in Iraq, this is too debatable a statement to be given as fact in an unrelated article without any source. Please see US-Iran relations#Iran and Iraq thanks Mancgollum (talk) 03:56, 16 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Just a note: in the intro section, the line "While most WWII UK espionage agents sent to the UK" is confusing; is this an error? Why would UK spies be sent to the UK? Kvcad (talk) 20:11, 8 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Personally I feel that this is a poorly written page and I have found it copied word for word to (include grammar errors and graphics) on no less than seven other web sites and I am not sure which came first (though I believe it to be this one). Klj12574 (talk) 06:02, 29 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

There are too many gramatical errors on this page which make it hard to understand and comprehend. Who moderates this article needs to go over it with a fine tooth comb and fix the mistakes. —Preceding unsigned comment added by ApocalypseNow115 (talkcontribs) 08:02, 12 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The whole sentence in the introduction concerning long established agents in the UK seems to be an oblique reference to the Sinking of the Royal oak in Scapa Flow. The myth has been going around since the sinking in October 1939 that U-47 was aided by an agent who established himself as a Swiss watchmaker in the nearby town. Other versions of the Legend suggest that the agent himself was responsible for the sinking of the Royal Oak by sabotage, these myths have been repeatedly and comprehensively debunked so I think that this sentence should be modified to make it a less definite reference to a specific event. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Interestedviewer (talkcontribs) 12:53, 28 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

There are many different spellings, capitalizations, and punctuations of Al Qaeda (however it's truly supposed to look) in this article. I would clean it up myself, but I'm not sure of the accepted form. 216.99.54.19 (talk) 21:48, 15 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Article needs a MASSIVE revamp[edit]

This article is one of the most poorly structured I've ever seen on this website. There are "clarify" tags EVERYWHERE and the portions of the article that explain the organizations of these cell systems are also extremely confusing and not typical of Wikipedia's approach to explanation. This should be at the top of a clean-up list ASAP. JBrahms (talk) 00:49, 20 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Wow it's even worse than I thought. Random uncited and unsourced quotations, some statements which need to Clarify tags are given one and statements that are in desperate need of Clarify tags go without, uncited and unsourced assertions that could influence a reader's opinion or perceptions. This is a horrible horrible article.
