Location[edit]

Will the Clackamas Town Center Transit Center be moved to along-side I-205, where the MAX Green line will be? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Njbob (talkcontribs) 12:47, 4 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes- there's a new parking garage alongside 205, and that's where the station is. tedder (talk) 06:31, 10 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Not in Clackamas, OR[edit]

Despite its name, the Clackamas Town Center mall is not actually located in Clackamas, OR. It's in Happy Valley, OR. See the address on their website here: [1]. -Helvetica (talk) 20:20, 17 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Clackamas Town Center Transit Center is not located in any city; it is in unincorporated Clackamas County. (Clackamas, Oregon is not a city.) For property on unincorporated land, the mailing addresses assigned by the Postal Service do not always make sense. Clackamas Town Center and the adjacent TriMet transit center may have Happy Valley mailing addresses, but they are not in Happy Valley. The current city boundary map available at this page of Happy Valley's website clearly shows that the site of Clackamas Town Center and the transit center is not within the city limits. History of TriMet Bus Lines at Clackamas Town Center, 1981-1986[edit]

Mention must be made that Line 79-Canby (now 79-Clackamas/Oregon City) was once part of Line 72-82nd Ave. (now 72-Killingsworth-82nd Ave.), from 1977-1982. Starting Sept. 5, 1982 (according to TriMet's service changes as documented in its Speed Driving Manual from that year), the once-longer Line 72 was divided, with the Clackamas Town Center-Canby extension being assigned to Line 79-Canby. That explains why only three lines served the mall at first, and the number of bus lines serving the mall became four after the division of Line 72 on Sept. 5, 1982.

Also, Line 76-King Road was merged into Line 31-Estacada in 1985, and the portion of Line 31 serving from Milwaukie via Lake and Webster roads became part of then new Line 29-Lake-Webster, which of course also served CTCTC. Line 78-Linwood became 28-Linwood, and routing was changed slightly as it approached toward Clackamas Town Center. Line 71-Killingsworth-60th Ave. was new to Clackamas Town Center for 1985, bringing the number of bus lines at CTCTC to six.

In short, these were the original bus lines serving CTCTC in 1981:

  • 72-82nd Ave.
    • From Sept. 5, 1982, the southbound extension to Oregon City/Canby was assigned to Line 79-Canby.
  • 76-King Road
  • 78-Linwood

In 1985, the bus lines serving CTCTC were:

  • 28-Linwood (formerly 78-Linwood)
  • 29-Lake-Webster (an extension once part of 31-Estacada)
  • 31-Estacada (King Road extension to CTCTC was formerly part of 76-King Road)
  • 71-Killingsworth-60th Ave. (new extension; this line previously terminated east at SE Mt. Scott & 112th, near the Lincoln Memorial, where Line 19-Woodstock currently terminates on its outbound trips)
  • 72-82nd Ave.
  • 79-Canby

I have all of that information, but I deliberately didn't include it, because it's much more detail than is needed for an encyclopedia. I'm a transit fan, but Wikipedia is not a fan site; it is written for a more general audience. I'm not saying none of that info. is worth including (but you'd need to find citations for anything you add, which is not easy for that kind of info.; TriMet rider guides are not acceptable as sources for WP, because they are not obtainable to the average person and thus fail WP:V), but I am saying that most of it is not worth including. You should start a TriMet Wikia page. Anyways, what I'd like to see here are the original bus pullouts of the CTCTC from 1981 and 1985. Originally, there were two of these routes serving CTCTC that continued to Kaiser Sunnyside, and those two lines left the CTCTC going east on Monterey and then south on 91st, then right on the 2nd CTC driveway, and then south on 89th and finally east on Sunnyside. This entry/exit from the east of CTC (where J.C. Penney is), where a Park & Ride once also was, was no longer used after 1988. WikiPro1981X (talk) 03:07, 15 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
