Great entry[edit]

Rather obscure game. I remember the clowns made a little "ugh" when they hit the ground, and we found it hilarious, but that was 36 years ago and I'm not sufficiently confident of the memory to add it. Maybe I can jog yours. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.133.109.153 (talk) 00:16, 26 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Breakout[edit]

I would argue that Circus is more based on Clean Sweep than Breakout. Clean Sweet was a paddle-a-ball-to-clear-the-screen game very similar to breakout, yet it pre-dated Breakout by two years. The guy who did Clean Sweep? Howell Ivy...who was one of the designers of Circus.

  • No. Clean Sweep is only superficially similar to Breakout as it fills the entire screen with dots, which do not deflect the ball when hit. Breakout and Circus are far more similar, and the timing of release makes it clear the game was capitalizing on the success of Breakout. Indrian (talk) 20:48, 24 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
