High and Dry?[edit]

The "dry" in high and dry coming from the lack of consumption of alcohol? Uh? I thought it was dry, emotionless services, in contrast to the emotionalism of evangelicalism and Methodism. Anyone got a reference for that? Gerry Lynch 12:34, 16 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

That stood out for me as well. I'm removing it as it both seems incorrect and lacks a citation. Anthropax 18:49, 26 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Broad Church[edit]

My understanding of the "Broad Church" was less that it represents a middle ground between High and Low, than that it emphasizes common liturgical practices over contested liturgical details. In practice, this often means something in between High and Low Church, but it's arrived at by a different route. Is there a better way to word this in the article? —Josiah Rowe (talkcontribs) 04:05, 4 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

External Link[edit]

I question whether the Anglican Field Guide is of sufficient quality to merit inclusion - it seems to be from a private web site and these are not necessarily reliable sources. --Jpacobb (talk) 02:25, 22 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Having had a second and longer look, I consider it is misleading and potentially offensive.--Jpacobb (talk) 22:55, 1 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Missing word[edit]

There seems to be a missing word in the quotation from Cyril Garbett: '...where there was true reverence and devotion I never felt any [what?] in worshipping and preaching...'. Perhaps someone who has access to the cited source could fill in the gap. AndrewWTaylor (talk) 10:46, 8 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Corrected: thanks for spotting it! Jpacobb (talk) 23:46, 11 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
