World War II service[edit]

Although Hicks served in the Merchant Marines and the Navy during World War II era, there are no reliable sources found as of yet state that he was in a war zone during the war. More specifically, the sources do not establish defining role in World War II. Additionally, it appears he was attending high school in 1946. Accordingly, "Category:United States Merchant Mariners of World War II" and "Category:United States Navy personnel of World War II" were removed until a defining role is established. Semper Fi!
