A few sources would be nice... Most of this is a perfectly reasonable summary of what is to be found in Johnson/Defoe General History of Pirates but there are a few surprising additions. Merger proposal

Christopher Condent and William Condon are the same person, as is evidenced by the following passage:

"This sent a new wave of pirates to Madagascar in 1719. It was Christopher Condent (sometimes named William "Billy One-Hand" Condon) ... who led the return to the eastern seas."
