Personal Life[edit]

Where did the information about her wedding date come from? The citation does not confirm a date. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.172.226.213 (talk) 13:18, 19 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Christina's figure[edit]

While I won't deny that many of the edits referring to Christina's figure have been crudely phrased, the undeniable fact is she is very well known for her curvaceous figure, and more specifically, her large breasts. Continually deleting edits that reference her chest makes for a less accurate page, so surely there's a way that her figure can be mentioned in a tasteful way, isn't there? I would have made such an edit myself, but it seems as though a large number of editors have a strong dislike for any sexually-themed content, and so I assume my edit would have been removed. Drpickem (talk) 17:54, 25 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I don't object to a mention of her figure. But after repeated boob comments I requested page protection. These appear to have caused some editors to believe no mention of her figure should be made at all. It would help to find it mentioned in a review of Mad Men. DinDraithou (talk) 18:58, 25 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Are you suggesting that some kind of "reputable" source is needed to include the fact that Christina is known to many people because of her curves? I am asking because a recent tasteful edit mentioning her "large natural bust" was recently removed, and I can only conclude that it's because the comment didn't have a reference. I hardly see why one would be needed -- I typed her name into Google and found that using AutoComplete it came up with "christina hendricks cup size" and "christina hendricks measurements" when I had only typed "Christina". Drpickem (talk) 23:21, 2 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Well if you want to add something like that and it doesn't say "breasts" then I'll try to help it stay. "Breasts" makes an adult reader feel afraid of his/her parents again and/or recall sitting nervously in a classroom. Most people say it like they're trying to overcome a speech difficulty. "Bust" on the other hand is nice and aggressive, and doesn't just awkwardly say "tits" since it's singular. DinDraithou (talk) 05:28, 11 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
What's really at issue is a bunch of Feminazis (note I'm separating these persons from true feminists) that think we should pretend women are as flat-chested as men, and therefore never ever never discuss the bald facts (literally) staring us in the face. Dolly Parton's "voluptuous" figure is discussed in her article so I see no reason it can't be discussed in this one too. Miss Hendricks just stated in an interview that she has a hard time finding a dress because of her large chest, so SHE acknowledges it. Why can't we? ---- Theaveng (talk) 19:03, 7 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

"What's really at issue is a bunch of Feminazis (note I'm separating these persons from true feminists) that think we should pretend women are as flat-chested as men," Um, no. Also there are women who are as flatchested as men and men who aren't. Your attack is unwarranted and does not contribute to the discussion, so grow up.

Also, breasts are the correct word and I know of no actual adult who "feel afraid of his/her parents again and/or recall sitting nervously in a classroom" when the word is used, whatever the hell that means anyway. Maybe this article needs to be protected so that only adults can edit it and not just a bunch of stupid little boys. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.22.68.127 (talk) 07:46, 3 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Photo Identification[edit]

I think it would be helpful is someone ID'ed which of the two young women is Hendricks in the high school play images. I _think_ I know which one is Hendricks, but I am unsure and could be completely wrong, as could anyone else looking at the image. --Skb8721 (talk) 16:58, 26 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

1997 Everclear Video[edit]

Why is there no mention in the credits of her early music video work, specifically in the Everclear video "One Hit Wonder"? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.242.208.54 (talk) 13:30, 25 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Probably because you dont have a reference or reliable source for it... if you did, you could put it in! --Teachingwedge (talk) 23:20, 17 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Her Modeling Career?[edit]

I've read 2 interviews where she mentions "back when I was modeling..." Was she a fashion model? A print model? If this can be verified, it would be interesting to add to her "early career" section. Codenamemary (talk) 22:54, 30 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Bizarre wording of this sentence[edit]

"Although she is known for her red hair and buxom physique, Hendricks is a natural blonde. She began coloring her hair red at the age of ten.[5][6]"

What does the size of her breasts have to do with the colour of her hair? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.22.68.127 (talk) 07:40, 3 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I had the same thought when I read this sentence... Teachingwedge (talk) 23:19, 17 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Early years[edit]

To verify that Hendricks went to Handley high just check the Yearbook in 1993 for the pic that was just displayed on Yahoo as Hendricks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 140.185.188.43 (talk) 14:25, 2 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Anglo-American[edit]

An interview in The Guardian (17 Sept 2011) reveals that she has dual nationality, through her father. Thus she should be listed as Anglo-American.Catiline63 (talk) 11:33, 20 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

 Done and referenced. – ukexpat (talk) 14:24, 20 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The description in the lede is not about ethnicity, it is about citizenship. Since she has dual citizenship, she should be listed as Anglo-American, as mentioned above. Please do not edit war over this. Elizium23 (talk) 17:16, 16 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
As before, please do not remove part of her citizenship from the lede paragraph. We have consensus for this. Elizium23 (talk) 21:56, 9 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
What about Robert DeNiro who has Italian citizenship, Martin Sheen who has Irish citizenship? Why aren't they listed as Italian-Americn or Irish American due to citizenship?
Who voiced their consensus ? two people? why isn't this the same for other people's wikipedia pages? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.247.187.158 (talk) 21:59, 9 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Hey, how about YOU not edit war over this. You didn't even respond to my comments above. And according to Wikipedia:WikiProject Actors and Filmmakers, it says lede section states NATIONALITY not citizenship. And according to nationality, it does NOT always equal citizenship. I don't see a consensus anywhere, so you're lying about that also. Christina Hendricks's page should look like Robert DeNiro's and Martin Sheen's since apparently THAT is consensus.--71.202.63.69 (talk) 20:07, 10 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Nationality is definitely not equivalent to ethnicity. And consensus at Wikipedia:WikiProject Actors and Filmmakers takes precedence over consensus at other articles. Do not use the argument WP:OTHERSTUFF because it is a fallacy. Nobody should be edit-warring at all. Elizium23 (talk) 20:48, 10 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Musical Talent[edit]

"She plays the accordion like her character Joan in Mad Men." Does that mean in the style &/or manner Joan plays? Or, perhaps character Joan plays, at all, because somebody 'discovered' that Christina plays, and Christina plays the instrument in the style &/or manner that Joan would, given all the facts and circumstances of the particulars. 66.81.105.135 (talk) 04:08, 2 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Belgian?[edit]

The name "Hendricks" suggests Belgian inheritage. Is there any information about that? Rbakels (talk) 10:49, 30 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Relationship[edit]

Can we stop removing references to her relationship with George Bianchini? They've been together for a while, and her own verified Instagram posts of them together should act as more than enough verification of this. 82.23.76.232 (talk) 11:27, 28 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Middle name?[edit]

Which sources have her middle name? An IP editor implied that some of them do, but I couldn't find it in the sources most closely placed to her birth. —C.Fred (talk) 14:57, 28 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The only place I've seen it spelled "Renée" is when somebody changed it to that spelling unsourced on Wikipedia. All other sources have it spelled simply "REne", though they could be sourcing each other. I think it's best to keep her middle name spelled "Rene" unless the other spelling is proven to be correct, which I'm yet to see evidence of. 82.23.76.232 (talk) 17:04, 28 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Adding: I've just seen it's you who's adding the "é" to her name. Unless that is sourced, again, leave it as "Rene" unless proven otherwise. 82.23.76.232 (talk) 17:07, 28 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Adding to my add: Apologies if I came off a little curt there, it wasn't my intent. Even discussing Wiki page edits I normally try to stay as polite as possible. 82.23.76.232 (talk) 17:25, 28 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
And my point is, if we don't have a source for "Rene", we should remove the middle name altogether. —C.Fred (talk) 17:33, 28 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
All online sources other than your edits here have "Rene" as the spelling. Rather than remove the middle name or add another "é" it's best to use the most commonly seen spelling, including the one seen on IMDb and EmpireOnline. This spelling was the only one seen until the "Renée" spelling began to appear on Wikipedia. 82.23.76.232 (talk) 17:40, 28 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Career section is too inclusive?[edit]

While Ms Hendricks is certainly accomplished and has appeared in many roles, her Career section currently reads like it’s all encompassing and needlessly comprehensive.

Ideally, her Career section would only refer to her most notable and significant roles, which are enhanced by a narrative to provide depth, clarity, insights, etc. This would reserve the balance of any screen or stage appearances for a separate Filmography that requires no more than the year, title, role/character, notes, etc.

A Filmography section or page is commonly found for actors on Wikipedia but somehow has yet to be created for Ms Hendricks. However, there are pages for Christina Hendricks on screen and stage and List of awards and nominations received by Christina Hendricks. Both of these pages are also narratives.

It would therefore seem reasonable for those two pages mentioned above to be removed and coalesced into a single at-a-glance Filmography that suitably replaces them. This should be a section in Christina Hendricks with either list created covering all of her roles, or link to a separate page like Jon Hamm filmography. A similar strategy should be used for Awards and Nominations section with either a list or wholly separate page, e.g. List of awards and nominations received by Elisabeth Moss.

The goal would be to provide a Wiki that is sufficiently credible and descriptive enough without a narrative required to capture it all. Her page(s) should be similar in scope and format to her peers so it doesn’t appear Ms Hendricks is overly “special”, while also giving readers a comparable layout with which they are familiar. 2601:601:A500:3940:0:0:0:DEBD (talk) 01:56, 6 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
