Link to Pine Mountain is Wrong[edit]

The link to Pine Mountain takes you to the one in Australia, not the one in Georgia, USA. I don't know how to fix, so request that someone with the technical knowledge do so. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.51.185.32 (talk) 10:56, 4 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I have finally corrected this. There are several possible Pine Mountain locations in GA with their own articles, but Pine Mountain Range seems the most appropriate being in a neighbouring county. There is also the town of Pine Mountain, Harris County, Georgia, however such a settlement is not mentioned in the series. On the contrary, Pine Mountain was a remote location where Foxy and the Ku Klux Klan both benefitted from the remoteness of the place. Rugxulo (talk) 21:50, 20 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Issues with the synopsis[edit]

*** SPOILER WARNING ***

Having watched the series again I have a number of issues/omissions with the synopsis.

1. The townsfolk seemed unaware of the murders/disappearances, the victims of which were hitch-hikers or vagrants. The exception being the disappearance of a boy who ran away in the direction of Delano, whose concerned family contacted the police.

2. The series contains commentary on segregation and other aspects of race relations. Both in the treatment of the Coles who are forced into a subsistence farming existence, and later on with the killing of Marshal Peters who is murdered on account of being an African-American businessman who is perceived to be inspiring others in his community to become politically active. The racist element of the white population is largely represented by the Klan who are mainly working class, but who have the sympathy of more 'respectable' individuals such as Willis and Funderburke.

3. In regard to point 2, there needs to be a greater mention of the Coles, who are also important to the plot.

I will try to amend the synopsis accordingly to incorporate the above points. Rugxulo (talk) 00:58, 21 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Why all the analogous people?[edit]

I don't mean to be hypercritical here, but why are all these analogous people (to the characters in the mini-series) mentioned? John Wayne Gacy as Foxy. Jimmy Carter as Billy Lee. "Medgar Evers-like figure". (I.e. Marshall Peters.) I don't know that those people were an influence on Stuart Woods or not. Really, Billy Lee reminded me more of Terry Sanford than Jimmy Carter. And the Marshall Peters character was more of a businessman than a civil rights activist (especially in the mini-series).Rja13ww33 (talk) 18:14, 26 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The miniseries does mention Georgia. Carter was from Georgia, was a State Senator, was Governor. Sanford was from North Carolina.John Paul Parks (talk) 16:59, 26 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Gacy was from Illinois. Evers was from Mississippi. So if it's based on state.....the mark was missed on a few of them.Rja13ww33 (talk) 18:29, 26 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Great Revision[edit]
