Event[edit]

Hello Wikipedians! If you are not at one of the two sites for today's Wikipedia edit-a-thon in Chicago, welcome to the event. :-) If you're a Wikipedian who's curious about the half-formed state of the article, we have a lot of resources for students at two Chicago-area universities, that those students will use to write the article today. If you come back by here at around 5pm Central Daylight Time, we're hoping this will be a nicely-written and well-referenced article. In the meantime, if anonymous edits have you concerned, feel free to ping me on my talk page (or here), since I can talk things over in person with the student, which may be easier than you having to try to communicate everything via an IP address talk page -- but obviously exercise your own judgment about what will work best. :-) Thanks! Map[edit]

The current map is incorrect: it shows Chicago before the Great Fire of 1871. There is a different, correct map published in Harper's in 1874 soon after the fire that is correct. This map is available on the Library of Congress website, but I'm unsure whether it's legal to upload that to Wikipedia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Chicagoluke (talkcontribs) 17:35, 27 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
