Dari Mart, etc.[edit]

Hey, what's with the reversion? I grew up in Cheshire. The store & post office are the most important things about the place. They are key features of the cultural geography, and they belong in this entry. 1013-josh 15:34, 11 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry about the reversion. That's what I get for editing in hurry before I run off to work. Generally adding a list of stores in a location is not very encyclopedic, I thought that's what you had done. Many of the articles about small towns have people adding a laundry list of every non-notable Dairy Queen, quickie mart, etc. If done right, however, it can emphasize the smallness of the place, though population figures are probably a better way to do it. Thanks for writing an article on Dari Mart, it is an important local institution, IMO. If you know any local history and can back it up with cited sources please add it. Surely there is a little more to Cheshire than the Dari Mart. Is/was a sawmill town if I recall correctly? Be sure to check out WikiProject Oregon if you're still interested in Oregon stuff. No problem, thanks for the note. I will try to look into the history of Cheshire a little more when I have some time. Today, there really isn't much too it, other than the store and the post office. It's a crossroads of sorts. Population I think is a little over 100. Never a sawmill town, to my knowledge. But I'll do some more research sometime! 1013-josh 15:16, 13 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
