Hamster Cheek Pouches[edit]

Wikipedia articles generally say that the hamster's cheek pouches reach only to the shoulder. But it appears that in some hamsters, they go all the way to the hips. Over the course of our investigative dissection of the rat, we can elaborate on the microscopic and macroscopic morphologies of the rodent cheek pouch. Concerning the former we can delineate the constituent cell types (e.g. epithelial composition) of the structure, utilizing the following reference sources:
