Orphaned references in Cheat Codes (band)[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Cheat Codes (band)'s orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "BPI":

  • From List of music recording certifications: "The BPI". British Phonographic Industry. Retrieved 2013-11-19.
  • From British Phonographic Industry: Gallup (4 February 1989). "The Top of the Pops Chart" (PDF). Record Mirror: 4. Retrieved 16 July 2010.

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 16:04, 17 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

DJ trio, not a band[edit]

So, I corrected some previous errors I had made (apologies!) and removed instances of "the band" from the article--they are not a band but a DJ trio. Can the article title and URL for the article be updated so that it does not contain the word "band"? Melodies1917 (talk) 19:12, 30 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Changing page title[edit]

Hey, Ss112. What's your reason for deleting the redirect of this page (Cheat Codes DJs) then recreating it again? I believe you're misusing the feature so that you can be regarded as the page's creator. So I just wanted to ask what's that about. - TheMagnificentist (talk) 14:37, 1 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't delete the namespace. As you raised on my talk page last week, if that happened, that's automatically done by Wikipedia and not an action I chose (as I cannot "delete" redirects or articles). I wanted to change it back to Cheat Codes (band), as a trio of DJs can still be regarded as a band (and do not have to be a pop or rock ensemble to be regarded as such), but could not so moved it back to its current place. I'm not the creator of Cheat Codes (DJs), nor are you regarded as such for having moved it from Cheat Codes (DJ trio). The person who created the page first, under whatever it was titled first, is still regarded by Wikipedia as the creator. The action of moving a page does not establish the moving user as the page's creator. Ss112
Alright. I will accept your statement as an apology. - TheMagnificentist (talk) 08:01, 2 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@TheMagnificentist: Apologise to you? For what? Your misconceptions about what a page move means? Yeah, no. There is nothing to apologise for, and your reply is condescending. Ss112 15:13, 2 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Let me explain from the start. The first page "Cheat Codes band" was created by Shoesquashfan5000 (after all the moving, it is currently placed at "Cheat Codes DJs"). It was moved by Melodies1917 from "Cheat Codes band" to "Cheat Codes DJ trios" before I moved it from "Cheat Codes DJ trios" to "Cheat Codes DJs", then you moved it back and forth. So basically, you took over me as the redirector. If you look at the page information, you can see that you are the page creator of "DJ trios" which you had created after moving the page to "DJs". - TheMagnificentist (talk) 15:42, 2 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@TheMagnificentist: I didn't need an explanation, I was already aware of the page history. That still doesn't make me the page creator of "Cheat Codes (DJ trio)"—that's just what a page shows when the page history is now at another place because the page has been moved. Even if it did, why would you care? You didn't create "Cheat Codes (DJ trio)"; you moved the page to "Cheat Codes (DJs)". You're arguing over a mistaken assumption, so let it go. Alright then. - TheMagnificentist (talk) 04:17, 3 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move 6 August 2018[edit]

The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: no consensus to do anything in particular at this time, per the discussion below. Since the article has not been at Cheat Codes (band) since 2016, this appears to be the stable title at present; declining to revert, although another move discussion would be possible. Cheat Codes (DJs)Cheat Codes (group) – The ambiguator DJs is usually reserved for a notable pair of music producers operating with equipment like turntables. Group is an appropriate ambiguator as it discusses a group of music producers regardless of each member's role in the group (the ambiguator is also the subject of discussion in 2 other ongoing RMs I started.) 2601:589:8000:2ED0:6D47:2D6F:5943:572F (talk) 17:50, 6 August 2018 (UTC) --Relisting.
