Height[edit]

How tall is Charlotte Green? We need to know. (I'm perfectly serious) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.15.69.218 (talk) 21:31, 22 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This was discussed in All in the mind on Radio 4.

Do you think she is taller or shorter than 6". Now estimate how tall she actually is. Your estimate will now be likely to be too low.

Similarly the minimum repayment on credit car bills leads to people repaying less than if it were not listed.

LSE?[edit]

Charlotte Green is not an LSE student —Preceding unsigned comment added by 158.143.135.110 (talkcontribs) 15:23, 26 April 2006

Indeed not. (At least, the radio announcer called Charlotte Green isn't). Silliness removed, better late than never. -- Blisco 20:07, 31 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Audio clip?[edit]

Would be very nice if a copyright-correct audio clip of CG's voice could be added, as that is one of her primary reasons for notability. Twisted86 08:30, 18 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Not an Arsenal fan[edit]

According to the BBC's potted Presenter biog ( http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/presenters/charlotte_green.shtml ) Charlotte is "an avid supporter of Tottenham Hotpsir FC"

As Tottenham and Arsenal fans are deadly rivals, I think someone is having a laugh.

Presumably a Rabelaisian... Philip Cross (talk) 16:58, 28 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Huh?![edit]

At the bottom of the page I can clearly see the following, seemingly irrelevant, blurb. Tried to edit it out, but doen't show up on the edit page. Thoughts? 81.159.211.87 (talk) 09:49, 28 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Natalie Jamieson is a showbiz reporter who currently presents BBC Radio 1's Entertainment News on the Jo Whiley Show. She was born in Oxfordshire on the 14th of December 1964. She attended the School of St Helen and St Katharine, Abingdon, Oxfordshire.

I've taken it out. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.164.94.143 (talk) 10:52, 28 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

UNDUE?[edit]

Green's giggling or 'corpsing' has been discussed in the media at length, including by herself. Nothing in UNDUE or BLP justifies removing balanced commentary reflecting this. It did not reflect negatively on her career or public perception. Fences&Windows 23:30, 7 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

There is a differences between an encyclopedia and a human interest trivial story in a newspaper. We are not an aggregation of celebrity bloomers. The length of this material clearly breaches WP:UNDUE and is not how we narrate material on a living person.--Scott Mac 23:35, 7 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
That's your opinion. I see no mention here of how WP:BLP applies, so you're edit warring over your interpretation of WP:UNDUE, right? Have you checked to see the number of sources that refer to her giggling, over many years? "in determining proper weight, we consider a viewpoint's prevalence in reliable sources". Not mentioning it in the lead is actually deliberately obfuscating one of the most commented on aspects of her career. Fences&Windows 00:27, 8 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
BLP applies because this is a BLP and we need to get it right. If most sources comment on a celebrity's breasts, do we make sure the majority of the article discusses breasts rather than an acting career? No. We don't simply follow the number of sources here, else we'd be a news aggregation and not an encyclopedia. This is trivia. It is peripheral to this person's career or an understanding of who they are. Fine, we ought to mention it, but following newspapers and giving undue weight to bloomers is not what we do. We must look at importance here. A sentence if fine, two might be OK, but any more makes us not an encyclopedia.--Scott Mac 00:35, 8 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
WP:UNENCYC is a known fallacy. --Cyclopiatalk 00:39, 8 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It was a bit excessively covered. and it is WP:trivia, a couple of comments should be enough to cover it, previous it was looking as if it was the most noteworthy thing about her. Because the media reports trivia extensively doesn't mean that we should. Off2riorob (talk) 00:43, 8 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Conflicting information[edit]

Did you join in the BBC in 1978 or in mid the 80's - needs correcting. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.239.20.100 (talk) 10:07, 19 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Obviously, I am not CG, but this error is now corrected. Philip Cross (talk) 10:28, 19 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Green was unique in her pronunciation of the years between 2001 and 2009 - I'm pretty sure this isn't true. 134.178.30.157 (talk) 21:52, 18 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, the source says unique among BBC announcers & newscasters, which seems a bit more likely... 91.125.195.200 (talk) — Preceding undated comment added 08:07, 16 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Name and place of birth[edit]

FreeBMD here supports a second name beginning with R and a place of birth in Ealing, London. But a WP:RS is still required for these details to be added. Thanks Martinevans123 (talk) 17:53, 28 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
