Born in 1838? or in 1842?[edit]

The information about the Charles H. utter who died on 3 July 1915, according to note 12. states that that Utter was born on 14 March 1842. The article states that Utter is born in 1838 (and so do Wikidata and the other wiki's). Are we sure this is the same Utter? RonnieV (talk) 23:06, 12 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Charlie Utter in literature[edit]

Charlie Utter is also the protagonist of Pete Dexter's novel Deadwood, which should be included in the article, as some people, including Dexter, think it was used as source material for the eventual television series, which IS mentioned. Although the series creators deny it, there are undeniable similarities, including many of the same characters. Pete Dexter is a winner of the National Book Award, despite being an original and striking literary stylist. 97.117.128.129 (talk) 01:29, 9 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
