Confederate Medal of Honor[edit]

Read did not receive the Confederate Medal of Honor by simple virtue of the fact that such an award never existed.

The Daughters of the Confederacy did establish the Southern Cross of Honor in 1898 but this was eight years after Read's death. 68.99.168.179 (talk) 02:01, 4 April 2015 (UTC)jmgould[reply]
